Hello I’m Sarah and I am the local co-ordinator for Faith in Throughcare in North Glasgow.
After moving to Glasgow I attended college as a mature student, studying integrative counselling. Following this I then went on to complete my degree in psychology at the University of Strathclyde. I spent two years as a volunteer at Faith in Throughcare whilst studying. After completing my degree I went on to work for the Mungo Foundation, supporting service users with learning disabilities to live independently in their own homes. I was delighted when a vacancy for Local Co-ordinator arose, and I joined the team in May 2015.
I am based at ‘The Place’ in Possilpark and co-ordinate the valuable work of our volunteers, helping to support those returning from prison after short sentences from HMPs Low Moss and Barlinnie. I also work out in the community, developing a network of support services and community projects which our participants can access after leaving prison.
Originally I am from Hertfordshire, but grew up in a small town on the west coast of Scotland. I now I live in Glasgow with my two children and my rescue greyhound. I enjoy reading and walking in my spare time.
