Tackling Poverty Together was an initiative of Faith in Community Scotland that ran between 2014 and 2016. TPT supported communities that had been especially affected by Welfare Reform issues such as benefit delays, sanctions and other changes to the UK’s system of social security, enabling those communities to develop or expand work to address these issues. As well as working locally, TPT delivered strategic work around food justice and household food insecurity.
The story of the communities involved in TPT is reflected in the report, which shares the challenges they faced and their extraordinary commitment and determination to support people affected by welfare cuts.
The report can be downloaded here.
We have a series of short films which gives an insight into different aspects of the Tackling Poverty Together journey.
